Planning an exterior change to your home — new paint, landscaping, a shed, window or door replacement, a patio cover, or anything else visible from the outside? It needs Architectural Review Committee (ARC) approval before work begins. This process keeps changes consistent with the HOA’s CC&Rs and helps preserve the look and feel of the neighborhood.
Before you apply, use the checklist in this packet to see what’s required for your specific type of project — required photos, color swatches, dimensions, and plot map details all vary by category (exterior paint, landscaping, windows/doors, shed/trash enclosure, and more).
How to submit
Completed applications, along with all required attachments (plot map, material specs, paint samples, and photos), can be submitted:
- Online — the fastest option: log in to FRONTSTEPS Community and upload your application under Architectural Requests.
- By email to Architecture@mytrv.org
- By mail or drop-off to 990 Summerset Drive, Rio Vista, CA 94571 — please seal all printed materials in an envelope labeled “Architectural Application”
Deadline: applications must be complete and submitted by 2:00 p.m., at least three business days before the next scheduled ARC meeting. The committee typically meets every two weeks, and you’ll hear back — approved, denied, or a request for more information — within seven business days of the committee’s decision by email. Work may only begin after you’ve received written approval.
